Yes, it relies on visual polish, a cheeky tone, and metal rock bombast to propel it forward, but underneath all that is a perfect action combat game. USGamer 4.5/5: "Devil May Cry 5 is an excellent return to form for the franchise, not only closing out one story, but setting its world up for a bright future. And judging by this game's quality? We're going to need them sooner rather than later. ![]() Some fans may find the open-ended conclusion a bit frustrating, but I found it the perfect way to start laying groundwork for additional titles in the future. From the throwback naming of demons that hearken back to the earlier days of the franchise to the style that drips out of every orifice, this is the best that Devil May Cry gets and more. It's aesthetically pleasing in ways I never thought possible for the series, and chock-full of love for the fans, oozing out of every pore. It's an even better Devil May Cry, perhaps the best the series has seen just yet. Shacknews 9/10: "Devil May Cry 5 is an excellent action game. So far, it’s been confirmed that Dante and Nero will be two of three playable characters in Devil May Cry 5 with a third that has yet to be announced. Towards the end of the trailer, Dante is shown momentarily with his own set of new moves that include him dual-wielding two-halves of his motorcycle like chainsaws and using it as an unstoppable battering ram against his enemies.Īfter a ten-year-long hiatus, it looks like we’ll finally be able to play as our favorite demon hunters once again. The Devil Breakers, along with Nero’s famed sword ‘Red Queen,’ and handgun, ‘Blue Rose’ add a new dynamic to Nero’s combat in Devil May Cry 5. Nero can also use it to launch himself through the air, a perfect tactic for evading during a battle. His other arm, the Gerbera Devil Breaker, deals out a devastating shockwave designed to target enemies and reflect their attacks. Its electrical power is strong enough to deter any demons that may attempt to take him down. Its simple appearance makes it easy for him to roam through the city unnoticed. In the trailer, we see Nero’s first arm called the Overture Devil Breaker. ![]()
