![]() The workscratching ERs showed great diversity between and within subjects and across a range of problems. The first study examined a large corpus of `workscratchings' produced by subjects as they solved paper and pencil-based analytical reasoning problems under test conditions. Results from three empirical studies are reported. A background to the work is provided by 2 comprehensive reviews of: 1.) previous research on ERs and reasoning and 2.) the cognitive and semantic properties of ERs. In this thesis the emphasis is upon cognitive processes during the entire time-course of reasoning with ERs, from problem comprehension through to answer selection. Practically all previous work has tended to focus solely upon performance rather than process. The work investigates the factors associated with effective ER use in situations where subjects select, construct and reason with their own ERs. This thesis presents work on analytical reasoning with external representations (ERs) using problems similar to those used in the US GRE college-entrance examination. The researcher gave pre-test and at the start of the research for both controlled and experimental group. The t-distribution values and the degrees of freedom were applies to determine the probability of the difference between two sets of data. Joseph Husband of Mary and grade 6 San Pedro Calunsod. ![]() The respondents used in the study are the students of grade 6 St. ![]() Is there a significance difference between the pre-test and post-test result of grade 6 students? The research utilized the T-test to determine the significance difference of the scores of the pre-test and post test of the controlled and experimental group. What is the effect of the text-a-day in the reading comprehension of grades 6 students? 2. The questions that the study answered are the following: 1.
